Let’s Do Some AVS
As you may know, one of the many hats I wear is that of President and owner 0f Sex Pictures Pass AVS. When I was asking for suggestions on what I should blog about, cherrylula at Drink More Post More suggested I should do a tutorial on AVS’ing, so I will oblige.
To start off I should probably explain the concept of AVS, and that of Sex Pictures Pass in particular.
Sex Pictures Pass is a pay per signup model. We do not offer revshare, so we have very easy rules to follow. No updating of sites is required. If the surfer takes a three day trial to a predesignated program (niche specific to the category of your site), they get a lifetime membership to Sex Pictures Pass, which currently has over 6,000 sites, with about 20 new sites added daily. This is all information you can include in your sales pitch (which will be discussed in a future entry). This makes for a very easy conversion.
We pay on a sliding scale beginning at $20, and increasing up to $30. You can see the rates here.
Things have changed over the years with many AVS’s closing up, or changing to the AEN model due to VISA regulations, but as we are not selling anything, we don’t have to worry about VISA regs. We are just giving the surfer an incentive to take a trial to another paysite.
I should point out that when it comes to traffic, there is no better traffic the AVS traffic. It is even better than search engine traffic, IMHO, because you have verified that your surfer not only has a credit card, but is willing to use it to purchase online porn.
In years past, the theory was to make hundreds of sites, and if you made a signup fine, but in the meantime you could leach off the linklist traffic and use all this qualified traffic to make upsells. Well, I am not going to speak for the other AVS’s out there, but that method does not work particularly well with SexPicturesPass. The people that do this may make some upsells, I don’t really know. They may have someone stumble across their site and even get a signup, and these are the people I see with the 1:3 ratios. Unfortunately, they are only sending 3 hits every 6 months.
The people that get checks from us every two weeks typically have one site in the system, but they actively promote that site. I will structure this tutorial around what I see working for our most successful affiliates, some of which make up to $12,000 a month. So I know it works.
So, to get started, find a domain name that is somewhat relative to the content you are going to be showing on the site. We are going to build these with the idea that they will be up for a while, and we want the search engines to eventually find you as well.
CherryRedAss.com is a good site for spanking or asses. TeenWonderland would be a good teen site. Don’t buy Black Beauties and have a bunch of blond twinks on it. Just won’t work.
Tomorrow we will begin with the actual building of the site.
