These photos are from Thursday at the APPNation Conference. Since I had to ride back to Los Angeles and traffic out of San Francisco is, in a word, horrific, so I decided to cut out a little early. These photos do include the morning keynote and panel sessions as well as some exhibit hall and sponsored workshop sessions. I had a great time at this mobile application marketing event and would like to thank everyone involved in making it an educational show. I hope to return.
These photos are of the various workshops and the press briefing from Wednesday at the APPNation Conference. One thing that no one can argue, APPNation was non-stop. After the keynotes, interviews and panel discussions they broke for lunch. Well, I guess some people broke for lunch. For others, there were several sponsored lunch workshops. There was also a press briefing and then the workshops really started. For the next four hours there were three workshops every half hour or so. Topics were suited for mobile application developers as well as those that wanted to monetize apps in one way or the other. Other than trying to photograph 20+ workshops, my main problem was trying to decide which one would be most beneficial to our company.
These photos were taken at the various panel sessions held Wednesday at the APPNation Conference, SF. It is said that one picture is worth 1,000 words, but as I review these photos I am afraid that is not really the case. The best I can do is provide photos of the people, their names at times and some charts. A video would be required to truly convey the information provided at this mobile application marketing event. The theme of \”Show Me the Money\” was quite evident with the topics covered.
Along with the many workshops and panel sessions, which went on literally all day long, there was an exhibit hall. There were quite a few exhibitors with everything from new mobile applications looking to get discovered, to mobile app developers, to app stores, to Samsung and Yahoo. In my opinion, if you are thinking of getting into monetizing or developing mobile applications, there was something there for you.
I got back from San Francisco, and the third APPNation Conference last night. Since I got so many photos, I am breaking the galleries up to a manageable size. These photos are from the Keynotes and opening remarks on Wednesday, day one of the APPNation Conference, San Francisco.
Next week, April 27 and 28, 2011, APPNation Conference SF will be held at the Moscone Center South in San Francisco, CA. This two day mobile marketing event looks to be jam packed with seminars, demonstrations and workshops. My main problem with attending this event is trying to decide which seminars I want to attend over the others. There are 21 seminars on the 27th and another 16 on the 28th. That does not even include the keynote, sessions and workshops that take place before lunch.
A look at the scheduled speakers includes people from Google Mobile, Appstore for Android, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, eBay and many more. Topics include mobile application marketing strategies, app advertising, monetization strategies and much more. I think it is safe to say that if you are using mobile applications to drive brand awareness, or developing them for selling at your own mobile market, this is an event worth attending. Luckily, we just launched our first mobile application today, a wallpaper rotator, so the timing of this event could not be much better.
Right now, they have discounted rates for both the expo and full conference pass, so if you are planning on going, I would suggest ordering your tickets now. For more information about this upcoming mobile marketing event, please visit APPNationConference.com. I hope to see you there.
Here are some photos from the Point Reyes National Seashore and Tule Elk Reserve. I can not explain why it has taken me until now to venture out onto Tomales Point. I must have driven past it a dozen times. With the guidance of my uncle that lives just south of there, we visited Hearts Desire Beach as well as Tomales Bay State Park. We found lots of water fowl and other birds, as well as a herd of elk. Unfortunately, we had to get to San Francisco so we had to cut the day short around 4:00 or 5:00. We will be back though. There is a lot more to see. Maybe more sunlight too.
It started innocently enough. A friend of mine posted a photo of a doughnut on Facebook. I commented on it. Someone else responded to my comment and a conversation ensued. Eventually my friend returned to the post and insisted we were in the presence of greatness. So, here we were. Three guys with three ideas of where to go to get a great doughnut. Something had to be done.
These photos were taken at Dynamo Donuts in San Francisco, Stan\’s Donuts in Santa Clara and Psycho Donuts in San Jose, CA. Enjoy
[Not a valid template]These photos are from the 2011 Baker to Vegas, 27th Annual Challenge Cup Relay festivities at the Hilton. The afternoon started off with Unofficial Results being posted and the adjustment of point calculations beginning. There were penalty assessments for various infractions, each being assigned a time deduction value. The scene outside reminded me of seeing a bunch of students gathered around the bulletin board to find their test scores.
Various groups had booths raising funds and advertising. There were a couple celebrity sightings, ala Forrest Griffin, who was kind enough to pose for photos with fans. There was an awards ceremony but I left before it got started since they seemed to be having a problem getting people seated. I figured the best way to get that to happen would be if I left, so it probably started soon after that.
