’Twas a couple weeks before Christmas, when all through the pad
We were hanging in the kitchen, for dinner was to be had;
The roast was sliced and the wine I did pour,
The dogs looking up as if to implore;
Please drop some scraps right here on the floor;
When out in the street there arose such a clatter,
I grabbed my camera and went out to see what was the matter.
In the window I saw a red flash,then blue
Why the cops were here, I hadn’t a clue.
Sirens from police cruisers and bullhorns was all I could hear,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But a trailer holding a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
The sleigh was long and did not fly,
I knew the cops could stop him, if only they did try.
But hey, it is Christmas; they cut him some slack,
Police cars in front and police cars in the back;
The Torrance Police Officers Association brings Santa to see children all over the city.
I know it does not rhyme, don’t be so finicky.
