GotBaddog to attend APPNation Conference

Next week, April 27 and 28, 2011, APPNation Conference SF will be held at the Moscone Center South in San Francisco, CA. This two day mobile marketing event looks to be jam packed with seminars, demonstrations and workshops. My main problem with attending this event is trying to decide which seminars I want to attend over the others. There are 21 seminars on the 27th and another 16 on the 28th. That does not even include the keynote, sessions and workshops that take place before lunch.

A look at the scheduled speakers includes people from Google Mobile, Appstore for Android, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, eBay and many more. Topics include mobile application marketing strategies, app advertising, monetization strategies and much more. I think it is safe to say that if you are using mobile applications to drive brand awareness, or developing them for selling at your own mobile market, this is an event worth attending. Luckily, we just launched our first mobile application today, a wallpaper rotator, so the timing of this event could not be much better.

Right now, they have discounted rates for both the expo and full conference pass, so if you are planning on going, I would suggest ordering your tickets now. For more information about this upcoming mobile marketing event, please visit APPNationConference.com. I hope to see you there.

GotBaddog will be at ad:tech San Francisco 2011

Next week, the Internet Marketing event, ad:tech San Francisco 2011 will take place at the Moscone Center in the city of my birth, San Francisco, CA. I have talked with show organizers and have been given the green light to bring my camera in and cover the show. I have been coming to ad:tech since 2007, which I believe was in Chicago. The New York City show in 2008 was my first venture to NYC and I was very impressed with the size of the venue and the number of vendors/attendees. Soon after, the San Francisco show became even larger than NYC, so you know there is plenty of business and education to be done.

Since I got a great response to Affiliate Summit West coverage I decided that I will begin following Ad Tech and Affiliate Summit as much as possible. I had slowed down on these Internet Marketing events in 2010, but it is time to make that up.

While I am there I will be covering a few of the scheduled parties. On Monday, April 11, Moss Networks will be hosting the VIP Mix+Mingle at The Supperclub. This event is invite only, so please find more information about reserving a VIP table at the Moss Networks website.

Tuesday evening, FriendFinder presents the Marketers Ball. Too Short & Digital Underground will both perform. This event is only open to ad:tech attendees, so be sure to stop by the FriendFinder booth to get your passes. I have been to these events. You do not want to miss it. It you want a VIP table, I understand there are a few left. Visit the Marketers Ball website for more details. Read more…

Affiliate Summit West 2011 Review

This is my review of the Internet marketing event known as Affiliate Summit West 2011, AKA ASW11. Affiliate Summit West was held January 9-11, 2011 at the Wynn in Las Vegas, NV. Due to scheduling conflicts, I had not attended Affiliate Summit since 2008 when it was held at the Rio. I was looking forward to this show to see how much things had changed over the last few years. Besides, in 2008 I only spent one day there and never ventured beyond the exhibit hall and a suite party.

I usually cover B2B trade shows where I already know a large percentage of the participants, or they at least know who I am. As a result, my coverage is usually limited to photos with a review based on my observations. When I obtained my press credentials for ASW11, I made a mental note to try and look at this through a “reporter’s” eyes, which resulted in my entering deeper conversations with some attendees and exhibitors. This review will take some of those conversations into consideration.

The Venue

It is kind of funny, but I have a condo that is in the shadow of the Wynn. Although I watched it being built, and I often wondered what it was like inside, I had never ventured down the street to check it out. Now I had my excuse. As it turned out, everything I had to do at the Wynn was in one small corner of the resort. I think I saw the casino once, but I never ventured into it. We did walk down to La Cave to grab some lunch on Monday and were pleased with our choices. Read more…
