Screaming Eagle

Saturday I headed over to Bartels’ Harley-Davidson in Marina del Rey to get a replacement lock for my tour pack and a new exhaust to help improve performance of my new 2010 Limited. Turns out the lock has not arrived, so I had to settle for the new Screaming Eagle mufflers. Day 205 picture of the day is the view from the rear of the new mufflers.

Just Kicking Back

Buddy seems to find himself in the weirdest positions when he is relaxing. I am not exactly sure how he can possibly be comfortable, I suspect his father was a snake. My picture of the day for day 204 shows Buddy wound up around the legs of one of my dining room chairs. As you can see, he appears to be content.

How did I get here?

I guess it is a good thing that I take a picture a day, or I might have a real problem keeping track of where I have been and what I have done. This has been a busy month to be sure. Time to catch up with my Project 365 updates.

At midnight on Day 197, Tanya and I decided to drive up to Campbell, CA to visit Psycho Donuts. Unfortunately, we did not make it due to the fact that we forgot Tanya’s laptop at home. When we walked in the door I discovered a water inlet hose to my dishwasher broke, so I had a flooded kitchen. This photo is of Buddy patiently awaiting our first attempt at departure.

Ready When You Are

That night we tried again. This time we made it up to Campbell. Our intent was to go to the donut shop, take some pictures, grab some donuts, then drive down Hwy 1 through Big Sur and take the coast all the way home. Unfortunately, traffic up there sucked. We made it as far as Monterey before Tanya had enough and requested we make a u-turn back to I-5. Day 198’s photo is Tanya and I at a rest stop by Santa Cruz, before giving up and jumping back on the 5.

Day 199 was Sunday, which meant it was time for a long overdue motorcycle ride. Tanya and I rode down to San Juan Capistrano to meet my son, then the three of us rode to Escondido to have lunch at Stone Brewery. This photo was taken in the garden there.

Day 200. My birthday. I never realized that my birthday was the 200th day of the year, and I probably never would have if not for this photo a day project. I found it interesting that Tanya’s birthday was the 100th day and mine was the 200th. Kind of weird, I guess. This photo was taken at Ostrich Land up by Solvang, CA.

Birthday Party Birds

For my birthday, we took the Limited up to Buellton for dinner, then went down the road a little to the Chumash Indian Reservation, where we spent the night and took some money from their casino. For the record, their casino allows smoking, but does not allow drinking. Just be aware. It was a great birthday, either way. Thanks again to Tanya, you are the greatest. Day 201 is the morning after, before we got back on the road to head home.

We made it home and I had to put Tanya on a plane to send her home. All good things must come to an end. Day 202, and all is back to normal. Today’s photo was taken on my morning walk with Buddy.

I guess it has been a busy week. I have a lot of galleries to build and blog entries to make. Buddy and I started the day, as usual, with our morning walk. My picture of the day for Day 203 was taken on said walk.

The calendar tells me we have reached the middle of July. I can not believe how slow this month gets after the 4th. Oh well, here is some catch up with my picture of the day.

Yesterday, Tanya and I decided to barbecue. She made one of her delicious Strawberry Pecan Salads. I barbecued some thighs and legs. Great leftovers.

Since it looks like we are going to be stuck here for a while I decided to take Buddy to the groomers. Here he looks all nice and shiny after a wash and wax. I think they may use Armor All also.

Back Home for July Photo of the Day

It looks like I am back home for July. Had planned on taking a ride up north but a broken lock on my bike’s tour pack eliminated that possibility as I do not feel like putting my livelihood at risk. So, here is a summary of the last few days.

Friday was Day 190 of my picture a day and it found me in Los Angeles at VidCon. I am sure there are worse ways to spend a day, I just can not think of them offhand.

Tanya wanted to go back to LA for another dose of VidCon, or to test my love. Not really sure which, but return we did. Day 191 shows us together preparing to enter the Hyatt.

Yesterday, Day 192, was Sunday and should have meant a nice bike ride, but alas, it was not to be. This was just a last minute shot taken after taking Buddy for his nightly walk.

Getting back into my Wii Fit+ after being without while out of town. Yesterday it said I was 53, today I tested at 27. Guess it helps to workout in the morning rather than late afternoon. Day 193 pic of the day.
