Curbed

Next to finding a photo worth taking each day, probably the most difficult part of Project 365 is thinking of something interesting to say about the photo. Today is a perfect example of this. My picture of the day for day 341 is of Buddy. At the end of every walk, Buddy lets me remove his Gentle Leader and leash, then he sits, watching the house, waiting for the signal to get his furry butt over there and in the back yard.

Walking Together

Tanya is not much of a morning person so she has never joined Buddy and me on our morning walks. However, nine times out of ten she will join us for our evening walks. My picture of the day for day 340 is of the three of us on an evening walk, waiting for the light to change.

Motorcycle Toy Run

Sunday, Tanya and I went out to Chatsworth for a motorcycle toy run. This is something I have been doing for about 30 years. Bikers used to get a bad rap before Harley-Davidson became a status symbol for lawyers and doctors, so I do what I can to clean up that image. My picture of the day for day 339 is of me on my Limited, toys strapped on and loaded into the saddle bags, headed out to a toy run sponsored by the HA. There must be a clubhouse in heaven set aside for them.

Ride To Cooks Corner

Saturday, my son called and asked if I wanted to go for a ride. Since it was not raining and Tanya was game, I was all for it. We met down in San Juan Capistrano then rode over to Cook’s Corner for lunch. All in all, not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My photo of the day 338 was taken at Cook’s Corner. Featured are Tanya with my Limited and Daniel with his Fat Boy.

Tis the Season

The other night I was at a Christmas party at the Staples Center. Without thinking, I greeted one acquaintance with a “Merry Christmas.” A few minutes later, I did the same with his wife, who reminded me that while she was a Christmas person, her husband celebrated Hanukkah. Doh! That is it. From now on, unless the person is wearing a cross or a Star of David, they are getting a “happy holidays” from me. My photo of the day for day 337 is of a decoration hanging on a neighbor’s tree. I guess it is the Ghost of Christmas Past …

Project 365 November 2010 Recap

A Picture a Day, Project 365 November 2010 Photos November was an interesting month. It started off with me having no facial hair for the first time since 1971. Luckily, the beginning of the month was pretty warm, so that made the transition from furry to bare a little easier. As far as travel is concerned, Tanya and I drove up to Northern California and checked out the redwoods and visited a couple friends. Other than that, my travel was all within 150 miles of my home. I have a feeling that 2010 is going to end with me sticking …

Raising a Ruckus

I try to make it a habit to bring my point and shoot camera with me whenever Buddy and I go for our walks as there is a great chance that I am going to find something [I find] interesting to photograph. Thursday morning was no exception, in fact, there were a few pictures I could have posted for my photo of the day today. As Buddy and I walked from one park to another, we could not help but notice the large number of seagulls hanging out in the park. Buddy was off in a flash and the birds …

Prize Winning Photo

Some things are meant to be. On Saturday, I told my friend Phil to make sure he was free on December 12, as the 7th Annual David Mann Chopperfest was coming up. It is up in Ventura, and is a nice ride from here. Besides, I need to hunt down some vintage Harleys and we have a mutual friend that will be coming down from up north, so there are several reasons to attend. Wednesday morning, I received an email from a motorcycle enthusiasts forum called MotoZania.com that I am a member of. They were having a contest in which …

End of Movember

Well, it has been fun, but this is never happening again. This is the last day of Movember, so while many of my friends will be shaving tomorrow (or tonight), I will be throwing all my shaving supplies away. Never again will a blade touch this face. Anyway, if you would like to donate on behalf of my efforts this month, donations are still being accepted at Movember.com. My photo of the day for this last day of Movember is of my moustache, after 30 days of growth. I do have a Movember gala to go to Friday evening, so …

Fall Has Fallen

When I look around the neighborhood, it becomes pretty clear that winter is almost here. The leaves have changed colors and have now fallen from the trees. My photo of the day for the 333rd day of 2010 is of one of the neighborhood trees after the leaves fell.
