Photos from the Arizona Snowbowl

When we left Flagstaff, we decided to avoid the Interstate and took the 180 Hwy towards the south rim of the Grand Canyon. On the way we saw a sign for the Arizona Snowbowl. I had never heard of it, but had seen it mentioned around Flagstaff, so naturally, I had to take the turn off to check it out. These photos were taken at the Arizona Snowbowl. Photos from Flagstaff, AZ

After leaving Sedona, we took a scenic drive up Arizona Hwy 89A to Flagstaff. When we were at the Oak Creek Brewing Company in Sedona, the owner told us about the Lumberyard Brewing Company in Flagstaff, so that is where we headed for dinner. Their food was so-so, but priced as such, so it was okay. Their beer was very good and priced right. Tomorrow, the Grand Canyon. These photos are from Flagstaff, AZ and the Lumberyard Brewing Company. Back to the Photos of Flagstaff Back to the Photos of Flagstaff

Photos from Sedona, Arizona

I ended March and began April a trade show in Tempe, AZ. Since Tanya’s birthday is in the beginning of April, we decided to do a smaller repeat performance of our road trip last year. Sunday morning, we headed out of Tempe and headed north to Sedona. What a welcome relief from the heat of Tempe. We found a nice micro brewery, Oak Creek Brewing Company, and tried their sampler. Good stuff. These photos are from Sedona and the outskirts. Very beautiful country. Back to Photos from Sedona, AZ Back to Photos from Sedona, AZ

Once a week

I have to be honest with myself and admit there is no way I am ever going to update Project365 every day. If I update weekly, then I can put up other pictures and videos that I have not had time for. Let’s try that. Thursday, I headed over to sign my tax returns to get e-filed. It was sunny out, so I took the Night Train. Turned out it was a lot colder than it looked. Day 83. Friday I got a new memory card for my backup camera. Since it was nice out, Buddy and I went outside …

Photos from a snowy Yosemite

If you are a regular reader of GotBaddog.com you will recall that last week Tanya and I went up to Yosemite to try and photograph a natural phenomena that occurs the last two weeks of February at Horsetail Falls. This phenomena requires a few things to be right in order for the effect to happen. These include sunlight and enough water coming over the falls in addition to the proper positioning of the sun, which only happens in February. We lucked out and went 2:2 on Saturday and Sunday. On Valentine’s Day we could see a storm was moving in, …

Valentine’s Day at Yosemite

Since we had such good luck last week, shooting Horsetail Falls, I decided to come back to Yosemite. As I was driving back up to Oakhurst, I realized I never finished putting up the pictures from our Valentine’s weekend. I completely missed the photos from Valentine’s Day itself. It was very overcast, and it was obvious a storm was headed our way, so we cut through the park and came out on Highway 41. These are the photos from Yosemite National Park, going from 140 across to 41.

Photos from Horsetail Falls at Yosemite

Since we had pretty good luck on Saturday, we decided to return to Horsetail Falls on Sunday. We got there about 3.5 hours early and picked our spot. Everything looked great until the sun started going down. There was a huge cloud bank which threatened to block the sun’s rays from hitting the falls, a very important ingredient to the equation. To be honest, I was ready to pack it in along with many others. Luckily, Tanya wanted to stick it out. At the last minute the sun broke through and we got our shots.

Photos of the Easyriders Bike Show Sacramento

A few weeks ago, I entered a photo contest at a motorcycle forum and won an honorable mention. The prize was a pass to the Easyriders Bike Show which was coming to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, I was out of town that weekend at an Internet marketing trade show. I had a suspicion that I had won the honorable mention because the forum owners knew I would bring my camera and provide some photos for their members. Since it was in the mid-80’s at my place on Friday, and there did not appear to be a threat of rain between LA …

Photos of a Southern California Day

Saturday Afternoon Ride Escondido to Seal Beach, CA It has been a long time since I went on a decent bike ride, so I was more than due for today’s ride. My friend Phil wanted to come along, but he only wanted to do a short ride to Cook’s Corner, about 50 miles from here. I rode my Limited and he was on his Glide. As soon as we got off the freeway he suggested we go to Stone Brewery instead. I was not real happy the last time we went there, but since it was 50 miles further I …

Photos From the High Desert

Desert Riding on Black Friday Spangler Camp – Cantil, CA It is Black Friday and the last thing I want to do is go shopping. Fortunately, some friends of mine went out to the desert to go dirt bike riding and invited me to come on out. I did not really take a lot of convincing. I loaded up the Charger with Buddy and my Canon and headed north on CA Hwy 14 out past Mojave to Cantil and an area known to the desert bike riders as Spangler Camp. It was sunny but brisk, but nothing a campfire or …
