Cooks Corner El Toro Road

Cook’s Corner [adrotate group=”6″] Our Sunday Ride to Silverado It is Sunday, but it has been raining on and off for over a week. We passed on our ride last week because of rain. Naturally, since we did not ride, it did not rain all that much. We decided to not risk passing up another ride only to have it not rain. Of course, that just ensured that it did rain. It was not that bad. I rode my Electra Glide and Daniel rode his Fat Boy. Daniel’s friend Edson joined us on his Yamaha. I don’t think he was …

National Veterans Mural

National Veterans Mural [adrotate group=”6″] West Los Angeles VA Center Last week, you may have seen the video I took of a mural at the VA medical center in West Los Angeles. I decided to submit it to CNN’s iReport, and they felt it was worthy enough to contact me in their vetting process to validate the video. They asked if I had additional photos, which I did, but only a couple and they were taken with my point and shoot, from my bike. Today I went back with my Canon Rebel and took some higher quality photos. [adrotate group=”1″]

Santa Barbara Beer Run

Santa Barbara Beer Run [adrotate group=”6″] Sunday Ride Brewery Tour This Sunday was Daniel’s turn for picking a destination for our Sunday Bike Ride. He chose a microbrewery in Santa Barbara. When you least expect it

My son and I were headed up to Santa Barbara, when I noticed a problem with his bike around West LA. We were in a pretty lousy part of town to try and find a place to work on a motorcycle. Soon we came upon the wide open arms of the VA medical center, with ample parking out of the way of everyone. Daniel took care of his issue and we headed out. To get back on Wilshire we had to go under it. This is what we found. Do yourself a favor, use the full screen mode. I think …

Project 365 February

Project 365 [adrotate group=”6″] The month of February February 2010 is drawing to a close. I know it was only 28 days long, but it sure seemed to fly by quickly. February was a pretty slow month for me in that I did not really do much in the way of traveling. Went on a couple nice bike rides with Daniel, to Solvang and Santa Barbara. Tried a little whale watching, but they were not cooperating with me. The month ended with the closing of a pretty nice business deal, so the future looks rosy. Am looking forward to the …

Sort This Out

Every weekend I am home, I try to take a motorcycle ride to somewhere cool. When my son joins me, we frequently end up at a winery or brewery. Many of these locations not only have a nice variety of beverages, but have very good food to go along with it. A couple weeks ago, we headed up to Solvang and discovered Sort This Out Cellars. To be honest, I do not recall the last time I had visited Solvang. I kind of remembered the windmill and European style architecture, but it had been long enough that I remembered nothing …

Headed into Santa Ynez

Headed up the 246 we leave Los Padres enter Santa Ynez and the Chumash Indian Reservation. Yes, there is a casino. No, we did not stop there. Maybe next time. If I do, I will be sure to do a review. hmmm, wonder if I can slide my helmet cam by security. Just kidding guys. Anyway, Daniel is on his Fat Boy and I am on the Electra Glide. Filmed with the ContourHD helmet cam.
