As I mentioned a couple months ago, I volunteered to help give the Torrance Rose Float Association (TRFA) some additional exposure to assist them in their fundraising efforts so the City of Torrance can be represented at the next Tournament of Roses Parade. A couple nights ago I heard that the TRFA needed volunteers to run their booth at the 2013 Torrance Annual Halloween Carnival, so Tanya stepped up to take care of their booth for a couple hours. Chef Shafer’s 17th Annual Halloween Ball, benefiting the Pediatric Therapy Network

These photos are from Chef Shafer’s 17th Annual Halloween Ball, benefiting the Pediatric Therapy Network which was held yesterday in Old Torrance. Chef Shafer is the owner of The Depot and Buffalo Fire Department restaurants, both located in downtown Torrance. He was also the recipient of this year’s Torrance Citizen of the Year Award and I suspect that this event is one of the reasons he was presented with this honor. Happy Halloween

I was sitting in one of those not quite fast food, but not a place with waiters type restaurants last night. It was getting late and I was in a neighborhood I was not really familiar with. Here I am in this silly costume, wearing shorts and no facial hair. I am not sure what I would have thought if I had seen me, but I have my doubts that a lifetime biker would be on the list. My picture of the day for the last day of October was taken at the Halloween party I attended last night.

Getting Better

Yesterday, Friday the 8th, I was able to finally get in to see a specialist. Although he determined that he was not the right kind of specialist for my injury, he did refer me to a neurologist and is getting things in motion for an MRI to be done. But best of all, he gave me some decent meds, Dosepak. No more of these dumb pain killers that have no effect unless you take several with a couple still drinks. Steroids, to actually work on easing the problem. Although I took my first dose late Friday, buy Saturday morning I …
