Time to start a new year

I am going to continue with my photo of the day project, also known as Project 365. While I really had to force myself to complete the project for 2010, I did it and I am glad I did. I had thought about switching it up a little, like have a different theme each month, but I am not sure how I want to approach this. I guess for now I will see if I can do an entire month with me in the daily photo. Last year, I made it 18 days before I started using photos of inanimate objects.

My photo of the day for day one of this exercise was taken on the road up to Mount Baldy, outside of Los Angeles. Even though it is New Years Day and people are supposed to be home nursing hangovers and watching football, apparently no one got the notice. There was so much traffic we ended up turning around and finding somewhere to have lunch.

My Project 365 Year End Gallery

It has been a year since I changed the format of GotBaddog.com. In that time, I have done a lot of traveling and I have taken a lot of photos. I would not even hazard a guess as to how many photos I take in a year, I just know I am glad we use memory cards instead of film these days.

In the past year, Tanya and I have visited AZ, NV, UT, NM, CO, OK, TX, LA, MS, AR, TN, KY, MO, NE, IA, IN, SD KS, IL, WY, Ireland, Spain and The Netherlands. I also went to Death Valley, Mesa Verde, Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Badlands, Indiana Dunes, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Manzanar, Mount Rushmore and Redwood National Parks. I traveled the State of California from Trinidad to San Diego. I also got a new bike and rode to Sturgis, SD and back. All in all, a very busy year.

Yes, I could have walked

I needed horseradish. I also needed a bike ride. I could have gone to the supermarket that is a five minute walk from here, but I really needed that bike ride. Besides, what if I got the wrong kind? I know a deli out in Marina del Rey that should be able to tell me all I need to know about horseradish. After all, it was a beautiful day in the South Bay and I could not really remember how long it has been since I last went for a ride. I do not need an excuse, but I did need a ride.

My picture of the day for today is of why I love owning a Harley-Davidson in Los Angeles. Days like today.
