Bath time for baby

Heading out to Sturgis tomorrow, so decided to give the Limited a bath before we leave. I know the first thing I will be looking for when I arrive is a bikini bike wash to get all the grime off her from the ride out there. I have a great route planned and should have some beautiful scenery to photograph and video between here and there. My picture of the day for day 220 is of the Limited after she has been rinsed off, patiently waiting for me to rub her down.

Picture Perfect Day

Day 219 of my photo a day project. A good friend of mine, that I had not seen in far too long contacted me and asked if I wanted to hang out. I naturally said yes, and we decided to meet up and go out for a late lunch, early dinner. As I have always spoken highly of Pancho’s in Manhattan Beach, and for some reason I had never taken her there, it was decided that this would be our destination. In keeping with the theme of the weekend, we took the Night Train out to Manhattan. My photo of …

Feeling Neglected

To be honest, I never dreamed that this would happen. Prior to May, my favorite around town bike was my Night Train. It is slim, sleek, light and very easy to manipulate through traffic. The perfect city bike. Then I got the Limited. While this bike is twice as big in bulk and weight, it is a pleasure to ride, and I actually find myself taking the Limited for trips around town. I decided that I need to start spending more time with the Night Train, so yesterday I started using her for all my tooling around town. My picture …

Modified Exhaust

I hope no local cops read this blog. Last week I put Screaming Eagle mufflers on my new Limited. Unfortunately, for the money spent, it wasn’t really quite enough. As I have been a customer of Bartels’ Harley-Davidson for almost 25 years, Ron Bartels was not about to let me be even slightly unsatisfied. That is why I keep coming back. My photo of the day for day 212 is a very rare photo in that it has someone else on my bike. Featured is Ron on the bike with his dad, Bill in the background.

Sunday Ride To Lake Hughes

Sunday, Day 206 of my photo a day, found me on the road for a nice leisurely ride. I headed up to Lake Castaic, then over to Lake Hughes and Elizabeth Lake. It was a nice day with very little traffic. Pretty much a perfect day in my book. This photo was taken on a turnout overlooking Lake Castaic and the surrounding valley.

Screaming Eagle

Saturday I headed over to Bartels’ Harley-Davidson in Marina del Rey to get a replacement lock for my tour pack and a new exhaust to help improve performance of my new 2010 Limited. Turns out the lock has not arrived, so I had to settle for the new Screaming Eagle mufflers. Day 205 picture of the day is the view from the rear of the new mufflers.

Back Home for July Photo of the Day

It looks like I am back home for July. Had planned on taking a ride up north but a broken lock on my bike’s tour pack eliminated that possibility as I do not feel like putting my livelihood at risk. So, here is a summary of the last few days. Friday was Day 190 of my picture a day and it found me in Los Angeles at VidCon. I am sure there are worse ways to spend a day, I just can not think of them offhand. Tanya wanted to go back to LA for another dose of VidCon, or …

The Life You Save

As you may know, I have done a lot of traveling around the states in the last couple of months. One thing that I have noticed in almost every state I have visited lately is that they are promoting motorcycle awareness. I have lost several friends and I have a permanent injury due to people not watching for motorcycles. Day 185 picture of the day is a reminder to please pay attention when driving.

June 2010 Picture of the Day Collection

Picture a Day, Project 365 [adrotate group=”6″] June 2010 Photos Is it just me, or is this year flying by? June had Tanya come out for a visit as we had a trade show in Las Vegas. We took advantage of the situation and rode my new Limited out there. It was a very hot ride. The rest of the month was pretty much kept local. July is my favorite month of the year, due entirely to the 4th of July and my fondness for things that go boom in the night. I am looking forward to it. [adrotate group=”1″]

Picture of the Day Update

Made it home from Las Vegas in one piece. The ride out there gave us temperatures close to 120. The hottest it ever got on the way home was 92. Definitely a better ride, even when it dropped to 60. Anyway, here are my pictures of the day for the last three days. Day 160 is Tanya and me on the way to The Player’s Ball, which we co-sponsored. It featured rapper, Too Short. Thursday, Day 161, found us poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel for the XFANZ Summer Expo. Day 162 was Friday and we spent a good portion …
