Another fine day in paradise

Whenever I go away for a while, there is one thing I really look forward to upon arriving home. The weather. On my last day riding home from Sturgis I had to get up early so I could leave Las Vegas before it got too warm. The reason for this is that no matter how hot Las Vegas is, Baker and Barstow are probably going to be hotter. At least in the summer. It is exactly the opposite in the winter. Even though I left at 8:20 AM, the coolest temperatures I dealt with were in the upper 90′s, and they got as hot as 115 in places. When I got within 10 or 15 miles of home the temperature dropped 15 or 20 degrees. I love that Pacific Ocean.

My photo of the day for day 232 is of Buddy on our morning walk. The look of excitement on his face is because he saw a cute spaniel on the other side of the park and he is hoping against hope that I give him the signal to go say hello to her. I didn’t.

The Road To Sturgis

Photos From Day One of the Ride To Sturgis

Torrance, CA to Grand Junction, CO

2010 was the 70th Annual Black Hills Rally & Races in Sturgis, S.D. The last time I went was in 2006 and I swore I would never return due to the amount of people that were now attending. If they all came on motorcycles instead of dragging them along on trailers it would not be so bad, but Sturgis just was not built for one million people. Since I got a new bike, and the price of gas went up, I figured it would cut down on the number of RV’s and trailers, so I gave it another shot. Tanya drove out from Indiana to meet me, and we did not get there until Thursday, so any crowds had thinned out significantly.

I did not take many photos the first couple of days as I needed to get some miles in so I could arrive in time to meet Tanya. This gallery consists of pictures taken in Las Vegas and Mesquite, NV as well as along I-70 in Utah. I spent my second evening in Grand Junction, CO.

A Picture a Day, July 2010

Photo of the Day, Project 365

July 2010 Photos

Sorry this is late, but there was a legitimate reason which I will not go into here. July was a pretty active month. It started off with some friends taking me out to dinner and then to see Devo in concert. It was pretty fun. I should probably put up a gallery from the show. The next day I flew to Indiana to visit Tanya and to participate in the annual GotWebHost.com 4th of July Extravaganza. Tanya flew home with me to attend VidCon and then we spent several days celebrating my birthday. Other than that, the highlight of the month had to be when I visited Gu Gu Sushi & Roll and discovered they had created a GotBaddog.com roll in my honor. It is delicious.
