The Road To Sturgis

Photos From Day One of the Ride To Sturgis [adrotate group=”6″] Torrance, CA to Grand Junction, CO 2010 was the 70th Annual Black Hills Rally & Races in Sturgis, S.D. The last time I went was in 2006 and I swore I would never return due to the amount of people that were now attending. If they all came on motorcycles instead of dragging them along on trailers it would not be so bad, but Sturgis just was not built for one million people. Since I got a new bike, and the price of gas went up, I figured it …

A Picture a Day, July 2010

Photo of the Day, Project 365 [adrotate group=”6″] July 2010 Photos Sorry this is late, but there was a legitimate reason which I will not go into here. July was a pretty active month. It started off with some friends taking me out to dinner and then to see Devo in concert. It was pretty fun. I should probably put up a gallery from the show. The next day I flew to Indiana to visit Tanya and to participate in the annual GotWebHost.com 4th of July Extravaganza. Tanya flew home with me to attend VidCon and then we spent several …

A 600 mile day

It has been a very long time since I rode a motorcycle 600 miles in one day, but I did it Tuesday. Rock Springs, WY to Las Vegas, NV. The temps shot up over 115 once I got south of St. George, UT. I had made plans with some friends for dinner in Vegas, so I had to push on. That made it 1,100 miles in two days. Needless to say, I was pretty beat by the time I arrived, which is my excuse for the late posting. My picture of the day for day 229 is me after 600 …

A Great Honor

It is no secret that I have a sushi dependency. Unfortunately, just any sushi will not do, I have become spoiled. I was in Nobu in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and tried one of their rolls. It was okay, at best. For me, it is Gu Gu Sushi and Roll or nothing at all. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to return after three weeks of no Gu Gu. To my surprise I saw they had created a new baddog roll. It is made with cream cheese, deep fried shrimp, avocado and cucumber topped with smoked salmon, capers and …

June 2010 Picture of the Day Collection

Picture a Day, Project 365 [adrotate group=”6″] June 2010 Photos Is it just me, or is this year flying by? June had Tanya come out for a visit as we had a trade show in Las Vegas. We took advantage of the situation and rode my new Limited out there. It was a very hot ride. The rest of the month was pretty much kept local. July is my favorite month of the year, due entirely to the 4th of July and my fondness for things that go boom in the night. I am looking forward to it. [adrotate group=”1″]

Hard Rock Hotel asked for free advertising

Last week I was in Las Vegas for a trade show that was being held at the Hard Rock Hotel. While I have a place in Vegas, my girlfriend likes the pillows at the Hard Rock so when business calls me to Vegas and the event is held at the Hard Rock Hotel, we opt to stay there rather than a mile away at my place. Within a couple days of my arrival, I received an email from their “media specialist” who had seen links to one of my other blogs on several other websites. He wanted me to “spread …

Road Trip Day Two Photos

Road Trip, Day Two [adrotate group=”6″] Las Vegas, NV to Zion National Park Day two of our road trip began in Las Vegas, NV. The drive on I-15 North, as you leave NV takes you into the Virgin River Gorge, which is pretty amazing. I have driven it several times, but this is the first time I was able to get photos of the place. After a late lunch in St. George, UT we headed into Springdale which is where one of the entrances to Zion National Park. One visit there and you have to imagine what the first settlers …

Road Trip Day One Photos

Road Trip, Day One Photos [adrotate group=”6″] Los Angeles To Las Vegas The best road trips are those that have no destination, and that is what we are doing. Since we have no time schedule, it did not really matter that we got a late start. So, we spent the first night in Vegas. [adrotate group=”1″]

Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse

In 2006, Tanya and I hosted a dinner for some clients and friends in Las Vegas, NV. Neither of us really knew where we should hold this dinner, but knew we wanted an upscale steakhouse. I asked around and many times the suggestion of Smith & Wollensky came up. We checked out their menu online and decided that we would try it out. Since the dinner was going to be attended by 25-30 people, we had to prepare a menu ahead of time. I love crab cake but Tanya never had it before. She likes mac & cheese and that …
