2012 Chamber Holiday Regional Mixer at Rolling Hills Country Club

These photos are from the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Holiday Regional Mixer which was held last night, December 4, at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Rolling Hills Estates, CA. This was our second time attending the holiday regional mixer and I have to say, it is one of my favorite events of the year as far as the Chamber of Commerce is concerned. There was plenty of networking opportunities available with Chamber members representing Carson, El Segundo, Gardena Valley, Harbor City/Harbor Gateway, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Lawndale, LAX Coastal Area, Lomita, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Peninsula, Redondo Beach, San Pedro, Torrance and Wilmington included in the mix. These events have more people than you can ever interact with, but when you keep seeing the same faces at different functions eventually you will talk if there is any chance of doing business together.

The Rolling Hills Country Club is a nice venue and while it is a private club they are available for special functions. In addition to the networking opportunities there was a D.J., a magician, hors d’oeuvres and door prizes. We contributed a certificate for a free beer at an upcoming Business & Beer event and I won a tour of the S.S. Lane Victory. I am looking forward to that and taking more photos to share here. Redondo Beach Chamber Regional Mixer at Seaside Lagoon

Last night, I headed over to the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce Annual Regional Mixer at the Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach. While it would be easy for me to just write off the Chamber of Commerce based on my treatment by the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) I refuse to do so. I have found a lot of value in attending the various regional mixers that local chambers put on, because most of them [and their members] understand the value of free exposure. As a matter of fact, being named the official photographer for the Palos Verdes Street Fair was due to my attending the Palos Verdes Chamber Mixer back in February.

We did not stay long as Tanya was not feeling well and I was not really in the groove as I had to spend too much effort intentionally not photographing any TACC board members, but it was a nice event. We met a few people from various chambers and introduced a few people to the Rheumatoid Patient Foundation and Business N Beer.

The participating chambers included Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Torrance, Harbor City/Harbor Gateway, Carson, El Segundo, Lomita and Gardena chambers. There were free food samples provided by Captain Kidd’s, Corner Bakery, Isabella’s Cookie Company (killer cookies, by the way), Silvio’s, Ruby’s and several others. There was a live band and door prizes. All in all, a nice event and it gave us some ideas on what local Chamber of Commerce we will join next. Continue reading

Official photographer of the PV Street Fair

Lloyd “baddog” Brown, of GotBaddog.com, said of the announcement, “I am extremely honored to have been asked and excited to photograph the Palos Verdes Street Fair. While I have photographed events with a few thousand attendees, this is by far the largest I have been asked to do. I am confident that everyone will be pleased with the results.”

Produced by the PVP Chamber of Commerce and presented by Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center of Torrance, this event is the largest on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and one of the most popular in the South Bay with over 40,000 attendees. The fair will have more than 200 arts and crafts booths, live entertainment on two stages, a food court and beer garden as well as gourmet food trucks. The street fair will be fun for the entire family with carnival rides for all ages as well as free pony rides for the kids and a free children’s petting zoo. This event is even dog friendly with the 2012 “Top Dogs” Dog Show and a dog adoption.
