Thirsty Bear: Tapas and craft beer

A couple weeks ago I went up to San Francisco to attend Ad Tech and the Marketers Ball. As I only went up for the day, I did not have a room to go to while killing time between the two events; I had a parking spot and there was no sense moving, so I called Tanya and had her do a search for a micro brewery that might be within walking distance. After a few minutes she came up with the Thirsty Bear, which happened to be just a couple of blocks away from where I was at the …

Photos from the Marketers Ball 2012 at 1015 Folsom, starring Too Short

After leaving ad:tech at the Moscone Center, I grabbed some dinner then headed over to 1015 Folsom for The Marketers Ball. The concert starred Too Short with a live band and included DJ YT Cracker, the Black Rock City Allstars and MASK featuring Money B. Sponsored by FriendFinder Networks and Infinite Traffic, promoter Darren Blatt’s many years of experience putting on these shows provided a very fun time for anyone that attended.

Photos from Tuesday at Ad Tech 2012 San Francisco

These photos were taken Tuesday at the digital marketing conference and expo, Ad:Tech 2012. Once again, the B2B conference and trade show was held at Moscone Center in San Francisco. I only had a few hours there so I did not get a chance to catch any keynotes to speak of, but it was good running into people that I have known over the years on the trade show circuit; and seeing what is new. While the standard exhibits of SEO/SEM service providers, ad networks and payment processors remain, there is a definite increase of exhibitors providing services in mobile …

Day two of APPNation III Conference and Expo

These photos were taken on day two of the B-to-B mobile application trade show, APPNation III. One common denominator I have noticed at every trade show I have attended over the years is that the day after a good party, there will be lower attendance the next morning. This held true on day two of APPNation III, however, that did not slow down the flow of information coming from the various panels and workshops or the enthusiasm of the attendees that came out. This was an informative event and I look forward to attending the next one. Back to Day …

APPNation III After Party at ROE

These photos are of the APPNation After party, sponsored by MobClix and MasterCard. At the end of a long day of seminars, panels, workshops and visiting the various booths on the APPNation III expo floor, it was time to head over to ROE Nightclub for the APPNation After Party for some serious networking. I know I had a good time and judging by the photos I am not alone. Back to After Party Photos Back to After Party Photos

APPNation Three, Day One

These photos were taken on day one of APPNation III. APPNation III Conference and Expo was held November 30 through December 1, 2011 at the Concourse Exhibition Center of the San Francisco Design Center. As the name implies, APPNation is a B2B trade show for all things dealing with mobile applications. If you are a developer or want to learn to monetize mobile applications, this is a series of shows you should consider attending. Day one included a keynote by Doug Purdy, Head of Developer Relations with Facebook. This was followed by workshops, panels and discussions covering topics such as …

I am headed to APPNation III

I will be in San Francisco next week for APPNation III. This third APPNation Conference will be held November 30 through December 1, 2011 at The Concourse Exhibition Center which is part of the San Francisco Design Center, located at 635 8th Street, San Francisco, CA. I attended APPNation last April and found it to be quite valuable since we are just beginning to get involved in the mobile application market. AppNation Conference is a B2B trade show, specializing in the mobile application market. When I attended last April, the thing that impressed me the most was the non-stop action. …

Photos from Thursday at APPNation Conference

These photos are from Thursday at the APPNation Conference. Since I had to ride back to Los Angeles and traffic out of San Francisco is, in a word, horrific, so I decided to cut out a little early. These photos do include the morning keynote and panel sessions as well as some exhibit hall and sponsored workshop sessions. I had a great time at this mobile application marketing event and would like to thank everyone involved in making it an educational show. I hope to return. Photos from APPNation Chairman’s Reception

After a long day of panels, workshops and walking around the APPNation expo, it was time for a little networking the old fashioned way, a few drinks. These photos are from the Chairman’s Reception, held at The Barrel House. The event was sponsored by AT&T Interactive, Flixster, UM and Sequoia Capital. Judging by the smiles on the faces, everyone had a great time. Back to the Chairman’s Reception Photos Back to the Chairman’s Reception Photos

Photos from APPNation workshops

These photos are of the various workshops and the press briefing from Wednesday at the APPNation Conference. One thing that no one can argue, APPNation was non-stop. After the keynotes, interviews and panel discussions they broke for lunch. Well, I guess some people broke for lunch. For others, there were several sponsored lunch workshops. There was also a press briefing and then the workshops really started. For the next four hours there were three workshops every half hour or so. Topics were suited for mobile application developers as well as those that wanted to monetize apps in one way or …
