Big Red Machine Annual Toy Run

Chatsworth, CA – December 5, 2010

A Christmas tradition I have participated in for as long as I can remember is attending motorcycle toy runs. I have some great memories from them and both of my kids were regular attendees. Heck, my daughter was nursed under the shade of a Harley-Davidson at a toy run back in 1982. Since bikers always get a bad rap, I feel it is my responsibility to go to at least one a year. Today, the SFV Big Red Machine held their annual toy run to benefit needy children.

It was kind of rainy, but it did not dampen the spirits of those that made the ride out. This was Tanya’s first toy run, so I think the rain was a nice touch. Unfortunately, they ran out of food while we were in line and since we had not eaten yet the smell of the barbecue only whetted our appetites. The combination of rain and hunger made our visit shorter than I hoped, but at least we got the toys out there.
